Cash cap reduction is not a refundable deposit. It may be lost if the car is stolen or totaled. GAP coverage generally addresses a payoff shortfall, not a refund of your down payment. Check your contract and insurance.

Trade equity and rebates are credits, not extra cash to bring. Refundable deposits are included in cash needed today but excluded from consumed cost if fully returned. Only upfront fees belong here.

One useful question

Is a down payment the same as a security deposit?
No. A cap reduction is consumed. A security deposit may come back, less contract deductions. Keep them on separate lines. Read the related guide · More leasing questions
